Street Names for Meth

Are you concerned that a loved one is abusing methamphetamines? Are you worried that this person has developed an addiction? The more you learn about meth, including the street names and how the drug impacts the body, the better chance you have of providing them with the help they require.

Methamphetamines can appear either in chunks or as a crystalline powder, with colors including white, yellow, pink, and brown.

There are many street names for meth, probably more than any other drug, with some of the most common including:

  • Crank
  • Crystal
  • Chalk
  • Chalk dust
  • Ice
  • G
  • Trash
  • Garbage
  • LA Glass
  • LA Ice
  • Dunk
  • Gak
  • Junk
  • Rocket Fuel

These are all names people may use when talking about meth or attempting to make an illegal purchase.

Note: the more you understand the street names the easier it becomes to pinpoint if a loved one is abusing the drug. Many people won’t use the name meth around others, especially those who they are trying to hide their addiction from. Instead, they will use one or more of the nicknames above.

Why Street Names?

Meth street names, such as ‘chalk’, often refer to how the drug looks.

For those on the outside looking in, using street names may appear to do nothing more than complicate things. For those who abuse methamphetamines, as well as any other type of drug, it is clear as to why street names are necessary.

People familiarize themselves with these names so they know how to make a purchase. Furthermore, there is a “cool” factor associated with these slang terms, making somebody feel better about themselves before they ever consume the drug.

How to Help a Loved One

If you are under the impression that a loved one is abusing methamphetamines, you may feel compelled to assist them in any way possible.

There is nothing wrong with confronting somebody about his or her drug use, as long as you understand that they may deny everything.

Once a person admits that they have a problem with methamphetamines, it is much easier for you to help them get their life back on track. At this point, you can search for a rehab center that specializes in methamphetamine addiction, knowing that this is often times the first step towards a better future.

It may not sound like it, but learning more about methamphetamines is one of the best ways you can help somebody with a problem. The information you collect can be used while you attempt to provide the appropriate assistance.

There are many street names for meth. While most don’t make any sense, all of them are used by people who abuse the drug.
